As they basked in gleaming rays

For now, I bear her burden
The Depth calls me
He is waiting, he is not the answer to my mistakes
The path before me is nothing but darkness
The road faded long ago
I feel the sweat drip down my face
There's no turning back
He waits for me
He walks behind
He hides in the brush beside
How will I face my fate?
Will I have the courage?

My bones shatter
I see him for the first time in years
He cradles my broken body
He whispers in my ear
I am the answer to your mistakes
A cardinal king perched pious and mighty
Reveals a selfish endeavor
